Volunteer oportunity planting native wildflowers

Submitted by the San Juan Trails Committee.

On Thursday, Dec. 18, Land Bank staff will be planting hundreds of wildflower plugs above the Goldenback Trail at Westside Preserve, and they would love help with completing this habitat restoration project.

The more hands, the faster the work can get done! The planting party is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., however any block of time would be greatly appreciated.

For those who enjoy the hike, park at the third pullout at Westside Preserve, across from the Goldenback Trailhead, and hike up to meet staff (click here for preserve map). If that doesn’t work for you, email Tanja at tanjaw@sjclandbank.org to work out a carpool/shuttle with staff to get you to the site.

Please bring any favorite gardening tools you’d like to use, and if you have a friend who’s been interested in native plants, bring ‘em along! Oh, and there will be snacks!
