Island Artisans’ Holiday Market returns for 49th year

Submitted by Island Artisans.

Islanders’ favorite annual holiday shopping event is coming! The 49th Island Artisans Holiday Market Fundraiser will be held on Friday, Nov. 28, and Saturday, Nov. 29, at the San Juan County Fairgrounds.

The holiday market will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Come see over 60 of your favorite artisans and many new ones! San Juan Island Roasters will be serving food and coffee, etc., at the entrance area.

Island Artisans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1976 to raise scholarship funds for young artists within the community. The holiday market is the primary fundraiser for those scholarships. It is a juried show and sale by San Juan County artists, with each participating artist donating 10% of their sales to support the scholarship program.

More than $25,000 in scholarships is awarded to graduating seniors annually. Additional donations and volunteers are welcome.

This year’s event is sponsored by Maya’s Legacy Whale Watching, Banner Bank, Kings Market, Friday Harbor Freight, Vinny’s and Serendipity Used Book Store. Harbor Rentals will be providing the heaters for the artists’ setup outside. This is a great opportunity to support our students while supporting our local artists, designers and craftspeople!
