Local businesses support Soroptimists Cancer Treatment Transportation Program | Letter

Anna Maria de Freitas, the owner of San Juan Island Inn Collection, which includes Coho restaurant, recently hosted two scrumptious dinners benefiting Soroptimists’ Cancer Treatment Transportation Program.

This program assists island cancer patients with ferry tickets so they may get to their doctor appointments and treatments.

The first event, a lively BBQ celebration in May, marked Coho’s anniversary. The second, held on Aug. 31, was a farm-to-table dinner created in collaboration with Amanda Zee, owner of Sweet Earth Farm, and Dan Darner. On a beautiful late summer evening at the farm, guests enjoyed fresh farm-grown produce paired with locally sourced meat and seafood. Both menus were crafted by Chef Tim Payne, whose creativity and skill helped make the dinners truly memorable.

In addition to her partnership on the farm-to-table event, Zee made a personal contribution to CTTF. The Soroptimists are deeply grateful to these generous local businesses for supporting our programs and providing our community with such meaningful and delicious experiences. It is a win for the cause, a win for the community, and a win for everyone who enjoyed these outstanding meals.

Thank You, Anna Maria and Amanda!
