The Land Bank and San Juan Island Trails Committee are working together on the development of the American Camp trail.
The organizations are hosting work parties to build just over a quarter of a mile of new trail along Cattle Point Road, thanks to the donation of a recreational trail license from the property owner. At request of the land owner, the first work sessions will be spent salvaging native plants from the trail corridor.
The Land Bank will provide snacks and tools, but additional tools like battery powered drills could be useful.
The dates and tasks are as follows:
Plant Salvage, Jan. 28, 1-4 p.m.
Plant Salvage, Jan 30, 1-4 p.m.
Trail Construction, Jan. 31, 1-4 p.m.
Trail Construction, Feb. 3, 1-4 p.m.
