Submitted by the Rotary Club of the San Juan Islands
It’s all hands on deck for Rotary Club of the San Juan Islands members when it comes to putting on their Annual Car Show. Handing out checks to three local non-profits made all the planning and hard work worthwhile, however. Recipients for 2023 included: The Youth Conservation Corps, The Joyce L. Sobel Family Resource Center and the Family Umbrella Group. One thousand dollars of the proceeds will go to Rotary International’s PolioPlus fund and the remainder to “36 Weekends,” the local club’s program to reduce food insecurity for children. Now in its 15th year, the show brought in record net proceeds despite a ferry being canceled.
Thanks to the judges from The Sports Car Club of San Juan Islands and Lugnut Automotive and to the car owners and attendees who came on Aug. 15, a beautiful sunny day, to make the show a success.
