In praise for ‘Poppy Days’ support | Letters

The Friday Harbor American Legion Auxiliary would like to thank these businesses and individuals for their generous support of our annual “Poppy Days” event:

Friday Harbor Drug Store, King’s Market, The Market Place and Gordy Petersen, of “Gordy’s Corner”.

The Auxiliary would also like to express its deepest thanks to all those who purchased poppies during this annual Memorial Day observance, May 19-31. The poppies are made by disabled veterans and all proceed from the sales stay on-island to help support our many veterans and their families.

We would also like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to Mayor Carrie Lacher and to the Town of Friday Harbor for their proclamation in recognition of the auxiliary’s annual Poppy Day fundraiser.
