The Whale Museum is joining forces with Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center to host the “Wild San Juan” series. The goal of the free series is to learn more about wildlife.
The next lecture in the series is on “Fawns, Fledglings and Fox Kits” which will take place at 5:30 p.m., Friday, May 5 at The Whale Museum. The series will continue on the first Friday of the month with “Songbirds” on June 2, “Harbor Seal Pups” on July 7 and “Explorers” on Aug. 4.
This lecture series features local wildlife species and activities. Speakers discuss how islanders can reduce human impacts which harm wildlife and their habitats. Impacts can include removing nests/nesting material when working in the yard to vehicle strikes. Through becoming more aware of the impacts of our actions, visitors and residents of San Juan can be better stewards of the wildlife.
