San Juan County will host a Open House retirement party for deputy prosecutor Charlie Silverman, today, Wednesday, at the county courthouse, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Hired in 1980 by former prosecuting attorney Gene Knapp, Silverman spent 26 of his 36-year legal career working for the San Juan County prosecuting attorney’s office.

He also served as deputy prosecutor in Gray’s Harbor and Mason counties, in the late ’80s and early ’90, before returning to San Juan County in 1995, where he has worked for the past 19 years for Prosecuting Attorney Randy Gaylord.
