Love those smokers, hate their butts | Letter

Is it just me, or is anyone else annoyed by the pile of cigarette butts, in the gutter, about 50 feet from the entrance of Herb’s Tavern?

I really don’t mind cigarette smoke. What I do mind are smokers who toss their butts in the street, grind them out with their feet, then just leave the old filters there. Who do they think is going to pick them up? One good rain, and all those filthy filters zip down Spring Street right into the harbor.

Smokers, what you do regarding your health is your issue; however, the rest of us, along with the creatures in the harbor, are really disgusted by your butts.
