Wolverines topple Vikings once again

The Friday Harbor Wolverines fastpitch team trounced the Orcas Island Vikings on May 7, winning 13-4.

The team traveled to Orcas to faceoff against its island rivals, starting the game with Jayna Ott grounded out and two runs scored.

In the sixth inning, Thea Seitz hit a homerun to help the team to a total of six runs in the inning. Liz Cruz struck a single while Olivia Germain grounded out. Raylee Miniken played seven innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out five Vikings.

In total, there were 11 Wolverine hits in the game against Orcas. Ava Hoffman and Bristol Halverson joined Cruz with multiple hits made for the team. Hoffman went 3-for-3 at the plate, leading the team in hits that game.

The Wolverines fastpitch team travels to Janicki Field in Sedro-Woolley on May 18 for the district championship. Times and teams are to be determined.
