The Friday Harbor baseball team bounced back from its only loss of the year in league play, a 3-2 defeat at Concrete, with a venegance.

The Wolverines needed only five innings to dispatch Darrington in a runaway 21-3 victory at home, Saturday. Freshman Gabe Lawson earned the win on the mound, striking out seven Loggers in just three innings and holding Darrington without a base hit before giving way to fellow freshman Peter Holt, who closed out the game in the final two innings of play.

The Wolverines turned 10 base hits and a batch of base-on-balls into 20-plus runs and wrapped up the victory in just five innings on the field. Brian Lambright  led Friday Harbor at the plate, going 3-of-4 with a pair of doubles and three runs batted in.

Earlier in the week, the Wolverines knocked out 12 base hits and collected 10 RBIs in a 9-5 win at Coupeville. Sophomore Otis Cooper-West earned the win with five innings on the mound. He struck out three, gavie up eight hits and four earned runs before Brian Lambright came on in relief to seal the victory in the final two innings of play.

With the pair of victories, the Wolverines improved to 5-1 in league and 9-3 overall.
