Submitted by Orca Protection and Rescue

Orca Protection and Rescue will host a meet-and-greet event from noon-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at slip J4, at the Friday Harbor Marina main dock. Founded by Captain Alan “Hobbes” Buchanan, OPR is hosting this event to allow the community a chance to meet the crew and be educated on the mission and future goals of the organization. OPR focuses on three main areas: Vessel regulation, Education about Southern Resident Orcas and other local wildlife, and Plastic/Marine debris removal. If you would more information about OPR and our mission please do check our website, https://www.orcaprotection.org/our-mission. To date, we have organized a beach clean up as well as many successful days on the water with vessel regulation! With the hope of increasing our following, we current reach upwards of 2,000 people on our page interacting with each other and our content. We are excited to be able to meet some familiar faces and introduce ourselves to many more once Saturday arrives! For more information, click here.
