The Journal of the San Juans’ February 26, 2025, includes an article where Amazon was using Washington Ferry system land for conducting daily commercial operations with Ryan Ericson stating this operation violated Town law. Additionally, it appears State land was being used by Amazon without expense, thus, unfairly enriching Amazon at the expense of Aeronautical Services (AS), United Parcel Services (UPS) and the US Post Office. Amazon should remedy the damaged companies.

Roy Mannix’ comment of picking the “low hanging fruit” repeats the robbing Amazon practice that Mark Franklin warns.

Mr. Mannix says he wants to employ locals, but the article ends with back-door capacity of off-island drivers. Mr. Mannix would do himself well by donating the Amazon money to the proposed 20/40-unit project at Argyle Lincoln project.
