The San Juan Island Community Foundation will once again bring community giving to the San Juan County Fair, Aug. 13-16! Thirty-five local nonprofit organizations and the SJICF Women’s Fund will be featured as part of SJICF’s annual SJI Cares County Fair Matching Grant campaign.

Fairgoers and supporters near and far can browse projects and make donations online at sjicares.org or at the SJICF fair booth in the main exhibition hall. The online SJI Cares Grant Catalog opens at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, and will remain open through midnight on Sunday, Aug. 16, giving everyone the opportunity to invest in projects that strengthen island nonprofit projects.

To help donations go even further, SJICF will match the first $1,000 donated to each participating nonprofit!

Visitors to the SJICF booth at the fair can learn about each organization’s work, make donations and join in the fun. Throughout the fair, visitors can participate in daily games to win bonus grants for one of the featured projects, along with kid-friendly activities for young fairgoers.

“We’re proud to showcase the incredible work of island nonprofits during one of the community’s favorite events of the year,” said Amy Saxe-Eyler, CEO of SJICF. “Whether you donate online or stop by our booth at the fair, every gift helps strengthen the organizations that make our community such a special place to live.”

Community members can explore every project and donate during the fair at sjicares.org or in person at the SJICF fair booth in the main exhibition hall. Stop by to meet nonprofit representatives, ask questions and discover new ways to get involved.
