More than 200 islanders lent a helping hand in last year's Great Island Cleanup, and together they cleared the island of more than 5,000 pounds of trash. They'll be at it again Saturday; this is one island-wide spring cleaning you don't want to miss.
The 2nd Annual Great Island Cleanup gets under way across the island at, well, pretty much whenever you’re ready, but the event officially runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Cleanup’s steering committee encourages everyone to take part in the island-wide cleanup effort by picking up whatever litter might be lying around at around your home or business.
Join this once-a-year trash party and, please, keep a lookout for Cleanup crews along the side of the road.
