Vote yes for our schools and our island future

Hello my fellow islanders,
I’m writing this letter to humbly ask for you to please vote YES to renew the San Juan Island Educational Programs and Operations Levy on February 8th.
100% of the tax stays right here in our community, supporting our local kids. This is not a new tax, but a renewal of one upon which our students have come to rely for essential programs and services that are crucial for their education, safety, and well-being.
My experience working in the schools as a para-educator and substitute teacher has shown me first hand what wonderful opportunities the EPO Levy funds can furnish for our children. From the Special Education program to music, art, counseling services and transportation, this levy benefits our island children by giving them a safe, consistent, and well-rounded education.
Losing these funds would be devastating to the essential programs upon which they rely to maintain their functionality. By voting YES for our schools, you are voting for yes for our island future.
Thank you for your time.
