Henri Bredouw of Orcas High School shot 39 to win medalist honors at his home course, April 21 vs. Friday Harbor.

Friday Harbor’s Tyler McKee finished two strokes back, in a three-way tie for second with Orcas’ Taylor Diepenbrock and Miles McCloskey.

Rounding out Friday Harbor’s top five: Megan Cuomo, 46; Quinn Bune, 47; Taylor Malloy, 50; and Riley Rousar, 55.

Rounding out Orcas’ top five: Alan Coe, 44; Spencer Sare, 47; Christopher Ghazel, 47.

Next: The Wolverines travel to Sedro-Woolley April 22, and host La Conner April 29. The Wolverines host the league tournament May 6.

At La Conner on April 15, the Braves bested the Wolverines by five strokes, 226-231. Shoreline Christian’s Ben Turner was medalist with 40.

Tyler McKee, who finished with 42, cracked the face on his driver on the practice range. Riley Rousar shot 45 and had par on the last two holes. Max McCormick, a first-year senior, is coming on strong heading into post-season, and tied with Rousar.

William King shot 49. Megan Cuomo had a tough day with her irons and finished with 50. Quinn Bune had a bad day with putting and carded 52. Taylor Malloy finished with 57. “The double bogey man got after him and he couldn’t shake ‘em,” Coach Jack Rice said.

Rice, a former PGA touring pro, is working with his players on their swings and is employing a new technique for breathing and mental control: A yoga instructor.
