San Juan Dragons defeat Woodinville 9-4; host Providence April 17 at Friday Harbor High School | Lacrosse

The San Juan Dragons are 4-1 and on top of the Skagit Conference after defeating Woodinville 9-4 April 14, at Woodinville. San Juan played aggressively, scoring three goals and holding Woodinville scoreless in the first quarter. San Juan scored two more goals in the second, three in the third and one in the fourth. Woodinville scored one goal in the third quarter, and managed three more goals in the fourth.

San Juan scoring leaders: Forest Dayton, three goals and two assists; Kyle Skoog and Alex Michael, two goals each. Senior goalie Calen Mehrer had 10 saves and freshman goalie Jacob Jackson had two.

Woodinville’s (1-6, Cascade Conference) scoring leaders: Tyler Paris and JD Chapman, two goals each. Goalie Dalton Combs had 14 saves.

“A beautiful night for lacrosse on a beautiful field,” San Juan Head Coach Rob Cuomo wrote in his coach’s summary. “San Juan scored in the first 30 seconds and never looked back. The Woodinville goalie made numerous quality saves. Good luck the rest of the way.”

San Juan hosts Providence (5-3, Cascade Conference) April 17, 2 p.m. at Friday Harbor High School.
