The Round the County sailboat race will be held on Nov. 11 and 12 at 8:40 a.m. both days.

This marks the 30th year of this race.

There are more than 120 sailboats from throughout the Pacific Northwest entered in this race, ranging from the 24-foot Moores to the 84-foot schooner, Martha.

Saturday starts at Lydia Shoal in Rosario Strait and goes north around Matia, Sucia and Patos, on down Boundary Pass and on to Roche Harbor to finish for the first day. The second day starts off the south end of Mosquito Pass, down the west side of San Juan, across Salmon Bank then north up Rosario Strait to finish off Obstruction Pass.

You can get a bird’s eye view from the top of Mt. Constitution, but the best viewing from shore will be on the west side of San Juan, and the southeast corner of Lopez.
