Most families are likely busy with the current soccer or football seasons, but now is the time to register for Island Rec’s Boys Basketball League.
The Friday Harbor Wolverines notched their third consecutive tennis win Sept. 23, obtaining a 3-2 victory at home Tuesday over Lake Stevens. The Wolverines lost to Coupeville on the road Thursday. Their record is now 3-1.
There’s no place like home. A road-weary Friday Harbor volleyball team claimed its first match of the season with a three-game sweep at home Sept. 25 over Mount Vernon Christian. With the victory, the Wolverines put an end to a string of four straight losses, all of which came on the road, and cashed in big on their first match at home.
Chalk this one up to depth. The Friday Harbor tennis team notched their third consecutive win and remains undefeated thanks to the performance of a patchwork lineup and a 3-2 victory at home Tuesday over Lake Stevens.
Beating up on B league opponents won’t get the Friday Harbor football team where it would like to be by the end of the regular season.
But the Wolverines have made the most out of the opportunity just the same.
The Friday Harbor Wolverines lost to the Orcas Vikings 3-2 over the weekend at the Lopez Tournament. But the Vikings got a taste of the Wolverine resilience they could expect today during a rematch, at Orcas High School. Both teams have seasoned veterans and displayed an intimidating degree of aggression at the front of the net.
