Friday Harbor golfers continue to dominate the Northwest 1A/2B League. The Wolverines, 7-0, possibly set a record at Similk Beach Golf Course April 23, shooting 188 to La Conner's 243 over nine holes. Senior Jordyn Taylor led with a 3-under 33, followed by Dustin Howard, 35; Cody Price, 36; Tyler McKee, 41; William King, 43; Quinn Bune, 45; and Megan Cuomo, 50.

The Wolverines, 7-0, possibly set a record at Similk Beach Golf Course April 23, shooting 188 to La Conner’s 243 over nine holes. Senior Jordyn Taylor led with a 3-under 33, followed by Dustin Howard, 35; Cody Price, 36; Tyler McKee, 41; William King, 43; Quinn Bune, 45; and Megan Cuomo, 50.

La Conner’s Eric Linderman led the Braves with 39.

“Cody and I started off pretty even. Then I bogeyed the second hole and I said, ‘Dude, there’s no way we’re shooting over par here,” Taylor said.

Taylor ended the game with three birdies to seize the day.

On April 17, the Wolverines defeated Mount Vernon 208-231. Howard was the medalist, finishing with 36, followed by Price, 37; McKee, 40; Taylor, 41; Bune, 54; and King, 58. Mount Vernon’s best single score was 39.

On April 15 at Shuksan, the Wolverines defeated Mount Baker 208-231.

Next: The Wolverines travel to Orcas on April 28, 3:45 p.m. They travel to Homestead to meet Blaine, La Conner and Sehome. They host the League Championship May 7.

Notebook: Cody Price, a senior at Friday Harbor High School, will golf for Cal Lutheran next year. He will major in business management or marketing, and minor in communications.
