The Concrete Lions beat the Friday Harbor Wolverines, 7-6, in a mini-playoff game on Nov. 6 at La Conner High School.
The Lions scored first and made their after-point kick. The Wolverines scored next trying to achieve a 2-point run into the end zone. There was some controversy over whether the Wolverines passed the goal line. Many on the sidelines, as well as players, thought so but the officials ruled otherwise.
The game continued with both sides working to achieve more points. The Lions will move on to the state playoffs, while Friday Harbor’s successful season comes to a close. The Wolverines end the season with six wins and three losses and tied for first place in league games with the Lions.
