The Lady Wolverines hosted the Crosspoint Academy Lady Warriors on Saturday, Feb. 15 for a 2B playoff game.
The Wolverines held their own for most of the game but at the half, the Warriors hit a three-pointer at the buzzer which increased their lead by several points.
The second half was difficult for the Lady Wolverines to catch up with the Warriors leading by 20 points at times. The Wolverines gave a valiant effort to close the gap but lost the game 42-54. Lady Wolverine season is over as of this game.
Wolverine boys’ first playoff game was Tuesday against Auburn, wherein they won 66-64. The next playoff game is at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Darrington.
The Wolverine Boys Varsity traveled to play at the Auburn Adventist Academy Falcons in the first postseason playoff game on Tuesday, Feb 18.
Wow! And what a game it was! Both teams were within two points of each other. The Falcons at one point lead by five, however, our mighty Wolverines fought back and lead by three, with just two seconds on the clock the Falcons scored a three-point shot tying the game and going into the first overtime. The play was rough with both teams battling for the lead. The Wolverines lead most times during this play with the Falcons tying the score. Again the Wolverines were within just seconds of a win when the Falcons scored sending the game into its second overtime. The same scenario played out again but this time the Wolverines clinched the win with a 66-64 victory.
The next game will be Thursday, Feb 20, at 6:15 p.m, against Darrington in the neutral court Sedro Woolley High School.
