The Friday Harbor boys’ soccer team is advancing to the state final four for the first time since 2014.
The Wolverines beat Prescott on the road on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2-2 (3-0 on PKs) in the state quarterfinals. Alden Carli and Zach Place scored in regulation before goalkeeper Luke Totten saved all three of the Tigers’ shootout attempts. Eric Corbin, Carli and Cole Curtis put away their shots for the final 3-0 margin in the shootout.
The Wolverines will next face off against league rival the Orcas Vikings on Friday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. in Sumner, WA for the semi-finals. Win or lose, they will play Saturday as well.
Wolverine boys soccer has made it to this state quarterfinal five times in their last seven seasons, but this is only the second time in that span that they have been able to advance to next weekend’s trophy round. In 2014, the Wolverines finished third, a program record.
