The 15th Annual Roche Harbor Salmon Classic derby kicked off on Thursday, Jan. 18 with 357 anglers – a record attendance.
The cannon went off on Friday morning to start day one of fishing. Friday’s total fish weighed in was 102 pounds, in spite of the challenging weather.
On Saturday, 77 fish were weighed in.
$26,000 cash prizes were awarded, including:
$10,000 for first place: Robert Enselman, Stanwood, Washington, 17 pounds, 11 ounces.
$5,000 for second place: Larry Surdyk, Snohomish, Washington, 15 pounds, 15 ounces
$3,000 for third place: Dustin Walker Oak Harbor, Washington, 14 pounds, 10 ounces.
$1,500 for fourth and fifth place tie: Vicki Klein, Friday Harbor, Washington, 13 pounds, 11 ounces.
$1,500 for fourth and fifth place tie: Michael Beard, Oak Harbor, Washington, 13 ounces, 11 ounces.
$2,000 Mystery Fish: Thomas Lerch Oak Harbor, Washington, tag No. 1051 13.9 ounces.
$2,000 for best boat total weight team: Michael Beard Oak Harbor, Washington, 79 ounces, 11 ounces.
$1,000 for leading lady angler: Vicky Klein, Friday Harbor, Washington, 13 pounds, 11 ounces.
Youngest angler: Floyd Holman, age 8, Friday Harbor, Washington
Boat drawing winner: Miles Harris, Federal Way, Washington
