Robert ‘Bob’ Erickson:

December 25, 1939 — July 20, 2013

Robert ‘Bob’ Eric Erickson, age 73, lost his brief battle with cancer on July 20 in Arizona, with his wife Brenda by his side.

Bob was born in Everett, Wash., Dec. 25, 1939 to Eric and Frances Erickson. He grew up in Friday Harbor, graduating from FHHS in 1958. Following high school, Bob entered the United States Marine Corps. After his tour of duty, he then returned to Friday Harbor where he worked for and retired from the Town of Friday Harbor.

Bob was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing men’s softball and coaching the women’s softball team. His hobbies were golfing, woodworking and RV trips with Brenda and friends, spending their winter in Arizona.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Frances and his brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Brenda, son Bob, daughter Kim, grandchildren Brandon and Jessica, brother Bill (Joan) and several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by step-children Debbie Mason, David, Cathy and Tim Keith, 11 step-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with Masonic and Military honors will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, 11 a.m., at Valley Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Masonic Hall.
