Phyllis Ann Davis | Passages

September 7, 1946 – April 30, 2025

Phyllis Ann Davis, of Chandler, AZ, formerly of San Juan Island, WA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025. She was surrounded by family. Phyllis was a trailblazer in the banking industry, becoming Vice President of Islander’s Bank in Friday Harbor and serving the community for over twenty-five years. To many on San Juan Island, she was a friend, confidant, and mentor.

Born on September 7th, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN to Marge Kaibel and Daniel Kaible, Phyllis grew up alongside her sister, Judy Kaibel-Breece. She later moved to San Juan Island, where she enjoyed a fulfilling life with her husband, Steve Percer, and helped to raise her grandchild, Drew Daugherty.

Phyllis was a member of the Common Sense Alliance and a founding member of Soroptimist International, where she served as treasurer for over ten years. She believed in their mission to change the lives of women and children through education, social, and economic development.

She loved sailing with Steve and Drew, and was a proud member of the San Juan Island Yacht Club. She traveled extensively through Europe, Canada, and Africa.

Known for her sharp wit, fierce love, and impeccable taste, Phyllis found joy in books, conversation, and a glass of wine. Her legacy is one of intelligence, strength, and deep commitment to those she loved.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Steve Percer; sons Todd and Sean Daugherty; grandchild Drew Daugherty; sister Judy Kaibel-Breece; and her beloved cat, Sheeba.
