Marlynn Lampert Littauer | 1950 – 2018

Marlynn Lampert Littauer, born Jan. 8, 1950 to Renee and Stanley Lampert in Brooklyn, New York, died on May 26, 2018, after battling ovarian cancer for more than two years. She died peacefully at home on San Juan Island, Washington, surrounded by Robert Littauer, her husband of 47 years, her daughter, Amanda, and her son, Douglas. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Zoe and Lilah Steele and Molly and Cora Littauer. Marlynn had a successful career as an early childhood educator and a nonprofit fundraiser, and retired early to spend time with her granddaughters. A fiery, opinionated, and passionate person, she loved her family and friends fiercely and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Marlynn’s Life will be held at the Mercer Island Community Center at 11 a.m., July 28. Donations can be sent to the Center for Whale Research, which promotes the survival of the Southern resident orca whales, which Marlynn loved to watch from the living room of her beautiful home on the west side of San Juan Island.
