Charles Albert Hansen | 1919-2018

Charles Albert Hansen was born at home in Seattle, Washington, to John Edward Hansen and Clara Alice Cheetham. He died in his home with his Granddaughters by his side. Charles, also known as Chuck by many, was a witty, gregarious, kind-hearted gentleman. He would give a helping hand to everyone.

Charles served in World War II in the veterinary division of the army.

Charles and his wife Joyce were married May 31, 1946, and joined together in life for 67 wonderful years.

Charles was a contractor building homes first in Edmonds and then in the San Juan Islands, living first on Shaw and then Friday Harbor in 1977. In approximately 2008, Charles and Joyce moved to the Bellevue area.

He was preceded in death by wife Joycelin five years ago, his daughter Jeannine Carr, his brothers George and Johnny and sister Janette. Charles is survived by his two sons, Ed Hansen of Juneau, Arkansas; Brad Hansen of Shaw Island, Washington; four grandchildren Jeremy Hansen, Shaun Hansen, Jennifer Carr, Heather Carr Wong; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Fiona Wong and Finnegan Hansen.
