The Washington State Ferries 2040 Draft Long Range Plan received 390 comments through the online open house, in-person open houses, postal mail and email. Staff heard overwhelming support for providing reliable service and managing growth by building new vessels. Participants also supported promoting multimodal connections and enhancing technology to improve operational efficiencies and accessibility. Washington State Ferries is in the process of finalizing the plan and will submit it to the Legislature in January 2019. The final plan will be distributed and posted online at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/planning/long-range-plan/the-plan.
