Spring Street, Argyle Avenue intersection to close Thursday, Sept. 20 evening

Submitted by the Town of Friday Harbor

The Spring Street and Argyle Avenue intersection in Friday Harbor will be closed from 7 p.m.-7 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20 to pour concrete. Alternative routes are recommended.

The contractor will complete sidewalk and crosswalk improvements associated with the roundabout. This work will correspond with the pouring of other sidewalk improvements on the Web Street, A Street and Nichols Street, nearby.

To minimize the impacts of this street closure and facilitate scheduling of off-island specialty subcontractors, town staff have authorized limited evening work at the Spring Street intersection while construction crews prep the sidewalk sites for concrete. The entire construction crew will be focusing on this task to expedite the construction process.

The contractor will complete the work during regular business hours beginning the week of Sept. 24. Access to businesses in the area will be maintained along with appropriate signage. Motorists are advised to reduce speed, drive cautiously and obey all traffic control signs with regards to this closure.

Information and updates on the project will be posted as often as possible. Questions can be directed to the project manager Pedro Mena at pedrom@fridayharbor.org.
