Second-half 2020 property taxes are due Monday, Nov. 2, 2020

Submitted by San Juan County

San Juan County Treasurer, Rhonda Pederson would like to remind taxpayers the second installment of property taxes will be due Monday, Nov 2, 2020. Typically, the second installment is due Oct 31.

However, because the statutory due date falls over the weekend, payments will be considered timely if postmarked or dropped off by Nov. 2, 2020. After that date, interest charges and penalties will be added to your tax bill.

In-person payment are still suspended until further notice.

Payments may be made:

• By USPS to San Juan County Treasurer, PO Box 639, Friday Harbor, WA 98250 (cash should not be sent through the mail). Make checks payable to San Juan County Treasurer and please include the payment coupon or geo/tax parcel number.

• Online using e-check, debit card or credit card at https://www.sanjuanco.com/314/Treasurer or by calling 877-816-9299. Please have your geo/tax parcel number ready. A handling fee is added by the service provider: $2.00 for e-check, $3.50 for debit card and 2.5% for credit cards.

• Our secure drop box just outside our main doors of the courthouse near the Sheriff’s Office.

• Another option is to utilize bill pay through your financial institution.

Tax payments must be postmarked by Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, to avoid interest charges. Remember to mail early to avoid additional charges. Placing your envelope in your mailbox on Nov. 2 does not guarantee it will be postmarked the same day.

For taxpayers who signed up for autopay, your payment will be made automatically for the amount shown on your most recent second half tax payment coupon on Oct 29.
