Rachael Ray films a ‘vacation’ on S.J.

Celebrity chef Rachael Ray visited the San Juan Islands Aug. 1-5 to film a segment for her series, “Rachael’s Vacation,” on the Food Network.

High Noon Entertainment of Burbank, Calif., filmed the show. Other destinations filmed during this July/August West Coast trip included San Francisco and Santa Barbara.

San Juan Island places filmed include Friday Harbor street scenes, Front Street Ale House, the Portals of Welcome and marina, Steps Wine Bar & Café, The Backdoor Kitchen, Pelindaba Lavender Farm, Roche Harbor, Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm, Rocky Bay Cafe and Duck Soup Inn.

Orcas Island places filmed include Eastsound street scenes, the Farmers Market, Rose’s Bakery & Café, Anthony Howe Sculptures and the Inn at Ship Bay.

With Ray was her husband, John Cusimano, lead singer for the group The Cringe.
