Port of Friday Harbor meeting on April 12

The Port of Friday Harbor will hold a commission meeting at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 12 at Ernie’s Cafe. Below is the agenda.

Action Items:

A. Approve resolution No. 17-001 Accept SSL Building Project as complete The Port contracted with Wellman & Zuck to construct the Spring Street Landing Building. The project construction began July 2015 and was substantially complete October 28, 2016. After review and approval by the project architects, RMC Architects, staff determined that the construction contract has been performed in full and recommends acceptance and closeout of the project. The contract total including approved change orders totals $6,026,142 including sales tax. Recommended action: motion to approve RESOLUTION #17-001 accepting the SSL Building project as complete, and directing staff to proceed with closeout documents and release of retained payments to Wellman & Zuck when all contract conditions are satisfied.

B. Approve 1st Quarter Commissioner timesheets

Staff will present the first quarter Commissioner timesheets for review and approval. Recommended action: Motion to approve 2017 1st quarter Port Commission timesheets.

Discussion Items:

A. Dear Riley hangar location

Staff will present three possible locations for Dean Riley’s commercial hangar.

B. Aeronautical Services staff parlAeronautical Services’ staff levels have increased over the years, causing limited parking for Ernie’s Cafe, Westwind Aviation, Aeronautical Services and Aero Classic Aviation customers. This congestion at the Airport Circle Drive would be relieved if the Aeronautical Services’ employees’ parking in an alternate nearby parking area. Staff will present alternate location and possible revenue stream for new parking lot to the Commission for consideration.
