PeaceHealth Peace Island Medical Center announces partnership with Vituity to manage physician staffing for the emergency department. Vituity, a physician-owned and -led multispecialty partnership, was selected after a thorough request for proposal and interview process.

“Key criteria in our search for a partner included a commitment to provide 24/7 coverage for the community and to maintain continuity of care for patients and individuals accessing the medical center,” said Jack Estrada, chief administrative officer, Peace Island Medical Center. “Vituity has vast experience serving small, rural communities across the country and I am confident they will be a good long-term partner for us and the community.”

Vituity is a leading multispecialty health care partnership founded 50 years ago by a group of emergency medicine physicians who shared a passion for providing the best patient care. Today, they have a network of over 6,000 clinicians in over 650 practice locations. Vituity also has a track record of successful transitions for in-house teams with a focus on the retention of current physicians.

“We are honored to partner with PeaceHealth to serve the San Juan community,” said Wade Fox, MD, regional director of Vituity. “Vituity has experience in providing quality healthcare in close-knit communities. An important element of our service is that we are staffed and equipped to handle issues the ferry, weather, and travel may present.”

Vituity anticipates being in place late spring or early summer.
