Portions of Sunken Park and surrounding sidewalks will be closed for planned maintenance during June. The basketball court will remain accessible throughout most of the construction. Work began June 2 with the closure of the gazebo and barbecue area. Upon completion of repairs to this area, the crew will progress around the exterior of the park replacing the handrails, fencing and boardwalk. Park closures will follow the work zone.

“The Town was awarded grant funding from the state Recreation and Conservation Office for this much-needed deferred maintenance,” explained Town Administrator Denice Kulseth, adding that the Town requests the public’s patience and mindfulness of posted closure signage. Richard Lawson Construction, Inc., will complete all work by June 30.
