Of refreshments, raffles, rates, broadband and ballots: OPALCO Annual Meeting

It'll be an 'electrifying' start to the weekend, as Orcas Power & Light Cooperative hosts its 78th annual meeting, Saturday, May 2, onboard the inter-island ferry (San Juan Island residents will need to get an early start).

The election of two members of the Orcas Power & Light Cooperative board of directors will be just one of many activities in store at OPALCO’s 78th annual meeting, Saturday, May 2, onboard the inter-island ferry.

Residents of San Juan Island will have to get an early in order to attend the meeting, either by making reservations to be shuttled to Orcas Island onboard a chartered boat departing Friday Harbor at 7:20 a.m., or by catching the red-eye, at 6:10 a.m.

Registration begins at 6:45 a.m at Spring Street Landing, at the Port of Friday Harbor, or call 376-3559 to reserve a seat on the chartered boat; space is limited.

The inter-island ferry is scheduled to return to Friday Harbor at 1 p.m.
