Johnston on duty at Island Rec

Morgan Johnston inherited the role of recreation specialist for Island Rec nearly a month ago, and she has been busy organizing and planning out the its sports, outdoor, adult and fitness programs ever since.

A 2010 graduate of Western Washington University, Johnston earned a degree in recreation and has worked for recreation districts in Richland, Wash., and Sheridan, Wyo., before joining Island Rec.

New to the islands, Johnston lists softball and rugby as favorite sports, enjoys hiking, looks forward with anticipation to the next series of Know Your Island Walks, and has her antennas up about the level of interest of “adult dodge ball”.
