On the eve of Super Bowl XLIX, San Juan Island Seahawks fans turned out by the hundreds Saturday to show support for the defending NFL champs, gathering for a “community 12th Man” photo on the knoll below the patio of the American Legion Hall in Friday Harbor.
Donned in blue and green, and sporting the jerseys of their favorite players, the crowd posed for a series of photographs spearheaded by local artist Michael Scott, who snapped the pictures from an elevated “cherry picker” on the bed of his company’s truck.
The photos will be circulated to regional news media and on various social media platforms, Scott said.
With a victory over the Patriots in the Sunday’s Super Bowl, the Seahawks would
become one of only a few NFL teams (along with the Patriots) to have won back-to-back championships over the past two decades.
Kick off is 3:30 p.m.
