Eleanor Ayers Evans of Friday Harbor, Washington, passed September 25, 2016 at The Village at the Harbour, in the loving care of her Friday Harbor family and her wonderful caregivers. She was 98 years young. Eleanor was born in Ossing, New York. She was the only dimpled darling born to her parents, George and Ella Ayers. Eleanor attended Lassel Jr. College and Kathryn Gibbs Secretarial school, which landed her a job on 5th Avenue working for Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics. She was married, then divorced and married again to a wonderful man. They travelled all over Europe and the Caribbean, often bare boat chartering sailboats with friends. Eleanor was active in her church and had many social friends and activities. She was an avid swimmer, seamstress, cook and entertainer of family and friends. Eleanor leaves behind 6 children: Pam (King) Fitch, Sherry Rork, Kim (Dee) Ware, Lan (Kathy) Evans, Sandy (Carol) Evans, Holly Richter. Her husband Herb and son, Bill Evans preceded her in death. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren: Jennifer (Gabe) Herda, Stephanie (Reid) Shippen, Scott (Brandi) Rork, Jeff Rork, Lauren (Jay) Rice, Chris Ware, Kristen and Jennifer Evans, Lisa, Stephen and Bradley Evans. She was a loving great-grandmother to: Sidney, Sam, Eleanor, Avery, Kayla, Courtney, Nash and Iris. Eleanor was a kind and loving soul and will be missed each and every single day.
