There are 44 offices in the county open for election this year, and 51 candidates filed. Most positions are unopposed. The biggest race is for the mayor of the Town of Friday Harbor, with five candidates. Current mayor Ray Jackson is running for reelection, plus Emilio Santiago, Pam Hoke, Evan Perrollaz and Tanja Williamson threw their hats into the ring. Only residents of the Town are eligible to vote for this office. The race will be narrowed down to two during the Aug. 5 Primary. Those top two will continue on to the General Election in November.
