Town Employee, Will Blackmon, was named Goodwill Ambassador of Friday Harbor at the town council meeting on May 19.

This is not the first time Will has been recognized for his spreading positivity online and out in the community.

“Will is an inspiration and he deserves to know what he means to so many people in this community,” said islander Kitty Sorgen.

The proclamation reads as follows:

WHEREAS, every act of service or kindness can have an impact on the quality of life throughout our community. Just one smile can brighten someone’s day and generate a new outlook on life; and

WHEREAS, Will Blackmon is known throughout Friday Harbor for his kindness, enthusiasm and positive attitude and his uplifting messaging of hope and harmony; and

WHEREAS, his dedication to the community can only be measured by the tremendous gratitude we have for Will’s exceptional service to the Town;

NOW, THEREFORE, I Raymont C. Jackson, by the authority vested in me as Mayor, do hereby take great pleasure in bestowing upon Will the honorary title of

Goodwill Ambassador

in recognition of his outstanding contributions. Thank you for being a dedicated employee and citizen of the Town of Friday Harbor.

Furthermore, I urge all residents to congratulate Will and follow his fine example and become more involved in our community as it makes Friday Harbor a better place.
