Friends of Cathy Cavanagh, who has battled cancer for the past several months, will host an auction-fundraiser and potluck dinner to assist her with help in covering her medical bills.

Cavanagh, a certified public accountant, is known for having donated hundreds of hours of accounting expertise to various island non-profits over the years.

The benefit potluck and auction are Saturday, Jan. 25, 6-8 p.m. at the Grange Hall in Friday Harbor. Donations of cash, goods or services are welcome. To donate, contact Genie, 378-2667, or, email to cavoassist@cathycavanagh.com.

For the potluck, benefit-goers are encouraged to bring a dish as assigned alphabetically: A-E, appetizers; F-N, entrees and salads; O-Z, desserts. Or your choice to share.
