Thomas Martin Smythe passed away early morning Jan. 6, 2010 after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. He was 42.

Thomas Martin Smythe passed away early morning Jan. 6, 2010 after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.

He was 42.

He was born May 8, 1967 to Carol Anne Smythe and Thomas Dennis Smythe, in Santa Paula, Calif.

He is survived by his mother; his son, Thomas Mason Smythe; his daughter, Kayla Amber Noble; his grandson, Mason Allen Noble; his brother, Jeffery Lee Smythe; and his close friend, Sonia Nash.

There will be a celebration of his life this Sunday, Jan. 10, 1:30 p.m., at his home, 655 Hunt St., Friday Harbor.

Tom was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s stadium football. Since he was 17, he made carpentry his profession and was an excellent craftsman. He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
