Talk about taking a fundraiser in stride…
Meg Lainson, Shona Aitken and Ross Lockwood walked, and sometimes ran, 30 miles over three days to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Wolf Hollow, and to raise money for the islands’ venerable wildlife rehabilitation center.
As part of the three-day, 30-mile trek, the three traveled 10 miles on Lopez, Orcas and San Juan islands, respectively, Sept. 5-7, completing the one-foot-in-front-of-the-other fundraiser at the Barking Bird in Friday Harbor Saturday, Sept. 7.
Accompanied on part of the course by Lainson’s Otter Hound, Liam, they raised $3,000-plus to help off-set the cost of operations at the San Juan Island-based wildlife rehab center.
Support crew consisted of Susen Oseth, Carol Parrot and Sarah Kwon, with promotional assistance from the Barking Bird’s Judith Carter.
