Solstice Scots Broom pull

Submitted by the San Juan Island Trails Committee

Spend a couple of those extra daylight hours, June 21 from 10-noon, helping tame the sunshine shrub at Beaverton Preserve.

The yellow flowering shrub is a Class B noxious weed, and while some may find the plant attractive in the landscape, it poses a threat to fragile ecosystems, crowding out native plants.

Please bring gloves and pruners if you have them and be sure to dress for the weather.
