Young mariners-in-training attended Island Rec’s sailing introduction class on Friday, July 6, at Percich Pond on San Juan Island. In this course, kids learn basic sailing skills at a slow and comfortable pace, according to www.islandrec.org/sailing.

Island Rec and the San Juan Sailing Foundation offer summer sailing classes for a range of ages and skill levels. Courses include sailing introduction for ages 8-11; basic for ages 9 and above; basic teen and adult for ages 13 and above; intermediate for ages 10 and above; and advanced sloop for ages 11 and above.
