Reading of Beth Kander’s “To the Moon” is Pay What You Can at San Juan Community Theatre

Submitted by the San Juan Community Theatre

San Juan Community Theatre’s On Book series continues with a reading of Beth Kander’s “To The Moon.” “To The Moon” is a stunning hour-long docudrama based on over 200 surveys and 20 in-person interviews with survivors of domestic violence, lifting up the riveting stories of these survivors, complete with humor, revelation, and tragedy. Seven survivors embody the experiences shared in the interviews and survey responses. Interspersed with interstitials, optional multimedia elements, and theatrical explorations of abuse culture and what we must acknowledge to overcome it, the show is direct without being exploitational. The show will be directed by Colleen Roberts and will be presented on Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m., each evening with Pay What You Can admission at the door. More information can be found by visiting the San Juan Community Theatre website at www.sjctheatre.org.
