Chamber Music San Juans will be shattering stereotypes and coloring outside the lines as it launches into its 26th season with an unconventional, “diverse” performance, Saturday, Sept. 21, at San Juan Community Theatre; showtime is 7:30 p.m.

Ten-year-old Jersie Angel capped a prize-winning performance at the county fair by earning first place in showmanship, among other awards, at the Washington State Fair rabbit judging division.
The competition was close. But with more than 2,500 votes were cast in The Friday Harbor Whale Museum’s most recent naming contest, in which Joy edged out the pack by roughly 100 votes.
The San Juan Islands Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will commemorate Constitution Week with special assembly at Friday Harbor Elementary School Sept. 16, and by receiving proclamations from the San Juan County Council, Sept. 16 as well, and from the Friday Harbor Town Council Sept. 19.
