Nana’s Holiday House opens for fifth year

Submitted by Nana’s Holiday House

Nana’s Holiday House opened its doors for the fifth year at 275 A St., next to Market Chef. Nana’s House provide a place for “kids only” to do their Christmas shopping. All of the items are from $1 to $10. Ages 1-18 can purchase special gifts for their families, teachers and friends. There is a wrapping station with helpers and an area where parents can munch on baked goods while their kids shop.

Customers may remember a special gift bought for parents when they were children, or maybe they’ve received a handpicked gift from a child. No matter which, it feels good, for both parents and kids. Just observing a child watch a parent or sibling open a special gift from them shows the lesson they are learning about the joy of giving.

Items are bought and made all year so there are plenty of lovely items for the whole family. The community also donates items and makes wonderful crafts.

Nana’s Holiday House is a non-profit store. All proceeds go back to the community in the form of scholarships, school supplies, swimming lessons, food and gas cards to the family resource center, and more.

Nana’s house is open through Dec. 23. Hours are 3-5 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, visit the Facebook page, Nana’s Holiday House in Friday Harbor or call 360-317-4489.
